Analysis services
How do we get started?
Tell us what you want to find out and what data you have. If anything needs clarifying we arrange a short call — at no charge and without obligation. Within 3–5 working days you receive a quote with the scope of work, the list of result files and a delivery date.
How much does an analysis cost?
We quote every project individually, because the cost depends on the number of samples, the availability of a reference genome, the number of comparisons and the scope of analyses. For orientation: a standard RNA-Seq analysis of 10–20 samples typically costs around PLN 4,500 net, and a small RNA-Seq analysis of the same number of samples PLN 3,500–4,000 net. Details are on the individual service pages.
Do you charge for consultations?
Discussing the project, choosing the right analysis and preparing a quote are free — that is simply part of scoping the work. Consultancy is charged when it requires preparation on our side: a literature review, analysis of your preliminary results, an assessment of your experimental design, or an opinion for a grant application. We always tell you before a conversation moves into that second category, and quote the cost first.
Is a contract required?
Not always. For larger projects we sign a contract using our own template. Smaller commissions are carried out on the basis of an accepted quote. We also handle purchase orders and procurement procedures used by university units.
How does payment work?
For analyses you pay after the results are delivered, against an invoice with a fourteen-day payment term. Training is paid before the date, but in justified cases — particularly where an institution's purchasing procedures require it — we allow settlement after the course.
Do you issue pro forma invoices?
Yes, on request — just ask. The final invoice is issued after the service has been delivered or the training has ended.
Can I pay in advance for services you will carry out later?
Yes. You can pay in advance against future services, drawn down gradually as subsequent analyses are delivered.
Is VAT added to the prices?
Yes. Prices for analysis services are quoted net and 23% VAT is added. The VAT exemption applies only to training that meets the statutory conditions, based on a declaration submitted at registration.
How long does an analysis take?
A typical RNA-Seq project covering 10–20 samples takes about four weeks from receipt of the complete dataset. The delivery date for a specific commission is always stated in the quote.
How do I send you the data?
We agree this individually. Most often we receive data on physical media, or we set up a dedicated SFTP account for the transfer.
Where is my data processed?
We use both our own servers and servers rented from established providers.
Will you sign a non-disclosure agreement?
If your institution requires a non-disclosure agreement, send us your template and we will work out the details individually.
Who owns the results?
You do. The files, tables and reports produced within a commission are yours, and you may publish them without any restriction on our part.
Do you expect co-authorship on publications?
No. For a standard commission an acknowledgement is enough for us. Co-authorship applies only in a hybrid model, where part of the scope is billed as a service and part is our scientific contribution to a joint research project. The model is always agreed before work begins.
How many rounds of revisions are included?
One round of questions and comments after the results are delivered is included in the price.
A reviewer asked for additional analyses. What then?
We are glad to help, but it is a separate commission with a separate quote. The same applies to analyses ordered after a longer gap since the project ended.
Will you help deposit data in GEO, SRA or ENA?
Yes. Preparing data and metadata for submission to public repositories is quoted separately.
Will I get a methods description for my paper?
Yes, as standard. Every project includes a draft of the Materials and Methods section with the versions of the tools used, their parameters and citations.
Do you work with non-model organisms?
Yes. Where no reference genome exists, the starting point is often a de novo transcriptome assembly with functional annotation by similarity to protein databases. Interpretation is then more cautious, and we say so openly in the report.
Training
Do I receive a certificate after the training?
Yes. Every participant receives a certificate of completion as a PDF file.
What language is the training delivered in?
Polish by default. Commissioned training can be delivered in English.
Do you run closed training for teams?
Yes. For closed training there is no minimum number of participants, and we can run it online, at our premises or at your site. The programme is adapted to the data your team actually works with.
When is payment for training due?
Usually before the training starts. In justified cases we allow settlement after it ends.
Can training be exempt from VAT?
Yes, where the statutory conditions are met. We apply the exemption on the basis of a declaration submitted during registration.
There is no scheduled date for the course I want.
In the course catalogue, every course without a set date has a "Notify me" button. You leave your email address, confirm it with one click, and we let you know when a date is scheduled. You can also contact us directly to arrange an individual or group session.
Can a course be cancelled?
Yes. If too few people sign up for an open course, we cancel it no later than one week before the planned date. In that case we either propose another date or refund the payment in full.
Can I cancel my participation?
Yes. An open course can be cancelled up to 7 days before the date, with a full refund. Later than that the payment is not refunded, because that is when we decide whether the course runs — but you may nominate someone to take your place, or move the payment to a future date. An analysis service can be cancelled at any stage; we then settle the part of the work carried out up to that date. Details and the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers are set out in the Terms and Conditions.
The answers above are informational and describe our usual practice. For a specific project, the binding arrangements are those in the contract or accepted quote, and for training, the provisions of the Terms and Conditions.
