Terms of Service
Rules for registering for and attending training organised by data2biology.
Last updated: 17.07.2026
1. General provisions
These Terms set out the rules for using the data2biology website and the conditions for concluding and performing agreements for participation in training and for the provision of data analysis services.
The service provider is data2biology Sp. z o.o. (Ltd.), ul. Rubież 46, 61-612 Poznań, Poland, tax ID (NIP) 9721324418, e-mail: office@data2biology.com, phone +48 692 816 069.
Definitions: Training — a course or workshop delivered by the provider; Analysis service — data analysis or software work carried out to order; Participant/Client — a person or entity ordering Training or an Analysis service; Consumer — a natural person concluding an agreement not directly connected with their business or professional activity.
Sections 2–6 contain common provisions and, where the rules differ, separate ones for Training and for Analysis services. The differences follow from the nature of each: Training takes place on a fixed date, whereas an Analysis service is carried out in stages over a longer period.
2. Scope of services
2.1. Training
The provider organises and delivers training and courses in bioinformatics and data analysis — online or on site, including on request and for private groups. The scope, duration, date and price are set out in the description of a given Training.
2.2. Data analysis services
The provider carries out analyses of biological data, in particular high-throughput sequencing data, as well as software and computing infrastructure work. The scope of each Analysis service, the list of result files, the delivery date and the fee are set out in the quote accepted by the Client.
The provider delivers the analysis results together with a description of the methodology and parameters used. The provider does not draw scientific conclusions and is not responsible for how the Client uses the results; responsibility for the biological interpretation and for the content of any publications rests with the Client.
3. Conclusion of the agreement
3.1. Training
Registration is made via the form available on the page of a given Training. The Participant provides the required data and accepts these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
After registration the Participant receives an e-mail with a verification link. The Agreement is concluded when the provider confirms acceptance of the registration.
3.2. Analysis services
The Client describes the project and the available data. The provider prepares a free quote setting out the scope of work, the list of result files and a delivery date. The Agreement is concluded when the Client accepts the quote — in writing, electronically or by placing a purchase order. For larger projects the provider may conclude a separate contract.
4. Prices and payment
Prices are given in Polish złoty (PLN), net of tax; VAT is added in accordance with the applicable regulations. Payment is made by bank transfer to the provider's account:
- PLN: 73 1090 1737 0000 0001 4965 3796
- EUR: 87 1090 1737 0000 0001 4965 3835
- Santander Bank Polska — WBKPPLPP
At the Client's request the provider issues a pro forma invoice before delivery. The final invoice is issued after the Training or Analysis service has been performed, using the details provided by the Client.
4.1. Training
Payment for Training is due before it begins. In justified cases — in particular where the purchasing procedures of the ordering institution require it — the provider allows payment after the Training has ended, subject to individual arrangements.
Where the statutory conditions are met, VAT exemption is possible — based on a statement provided during registration.
4.2. Analysis services
Payment for an Analysis service is due after the results have been delivered, against an invoice with a fourteen-day payment term, unless the quote provides otherwise. For longer projects the parties may agree on payment in stages or on an advance against future services.
5. Right of withdrawal (Consumers)
A Consumer may withdraw from the Agreement within 14 days of its conclusion, without giving a reason, by submitting a relevant statement to the provider (e.g. by e-mail to office@data2biology.com).
5.1. Training
If the Training is to begin before the withdrawal period expires, its delivery requires the Consumer's express consent. Once the Training has ended, the right of withdrawal lapses. If the Consumer withdraws during the Training, they pay for the part performed up to that moment.
5.2. Analysis services
Data analysis begins only at the Client's express request — in practice, acceptance of the quote together with handing over the data for analysis. The Consumer is informed of this before work starts.
If the Consumer withdraws after work has started but before it is finished, they pay for the part of the service performed up to the moment of withdrawal, in proportion to the agreed fee. Once the service has been fully performed and the results delivered, the right of withdrawal lapses.
As long as work has not started, withdrawal within 14 days is free of charge and involves no costs, unless a separate contract provides otherwise.
6. Cancellation
6.1. Cancellation by the Participant
Regardless of the statutory right of withdrawal, a Participant may cancel their participation no later than 7 days before the scheduled date, by notifying the provider by e-mail. In that case the payment is refunded in full.
Cancellation later than 7 days before the date does not entitle the Participant to a refund, because at that point the provider makes a binding decision on running the Training. The Participant may instead nominate a replacement, or — by arrangement — transfer the payment to a future date.
The above applies to open Training. Cancellation terms for commissioned Training — organised for a specific group or institution — are agreed individually and are usually set out in a separate contract.
6.2. Cancellation by the provider
The provider may cancel a Training, in particular where too few people have registered, no later than 7 days before the planned date. In that case the provider offers an alternative date or refunds the payment in full.
6.3. Cancelling an Analysis service
The Client may cancel an Analysis service at any stage. The part of the work carried out up to the date of cancellation is settled; the provider hands over the results of that part together with a description of what was done.
7. Complaints
Complaints regarding Training or Analysis services may be submitted to office@data2biology.com. A complaint should include the Participant's details and a description of the issue. The provider will consider the complaint within 14 days of receipt.
8. Rights to materials and results
8.1. Training materials
Training materials are protected by copyright and made available to the Participant solely for their own use in connection with the Training. Further distribution requires the provider's consent.
8.2. Analysis results
The result files, tables and reports produced within an Analysis service belong to the Client. The Client may publish and use them without any restriction on the provider's part. The provider does not expect co-authorship of publications; an acknowledgement is sufficient. Co-authorship may be agreed separately where part of the work constitutes a scientific contribution to a joint research project.
The provider retains rights to its own general-purpose tools, scripts and solutions used in delivering the service, unless the quote provides otherwise.
8.3. Confidentiality of Client data
Data provided by the Client for analysis is treated as confidential and used solely to deliver the service. It is not shared with third parties or used for any other purpose. At the Client's request a separate confidentiality agreement may be concluded; retention and deletion of the data after the project ends are agreed individually.
9. Personal data
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Out-of-court dispute resolution (Consumers)
A Consumer may use out-of-court methods of handling complaints and pursuing claims, e.g. before a permanent consumer arbitration court or the regional Trade Inspection inspector, and may seek help from the district (municipal) consumer ombudsman. Information is available on the website of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection: uokik.gov.pl.
11. Final provisions
Matters not covered here are governed by Polish law, in particular the Civil Code and the Consumer Rights Act. The provider may amend these Terms for important reasons; agreements concluded before a change are governed by the Terms in force at the time of conclusion. The current Terms are always available on this page.
